Si è conclusa ieri sera la sesta edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival che si è svolta dal 2 al 4 marzo nell’accogliente cornice dell’Hotel Ascona. Rassegna culturale ormai arrivata alla maturità che grazie al generoso sostegno degli sponsor privati è completamente gratuita. Grandissimo il successo di pubblico che numeroso ha riempito le sale apprezzando l’atmosfera esclusiva e curata dell’evento ed i corti in concorso. Il fondatore e direttore artistico Andrea Biasca-Caroni che, quest’anno ha ricevuto la candidatura di 1’500 film, ha selezionato 28 cortometraggi provenienti da 13 nazioni. Film che, pur essendo appena stati prodotti, sono stati selezionati in importanti Festival come Cannes o hanno già vinto premi internazionali come il David di Donatello o il Clermont-Ferrand. La selezione di Andrea Biasca-Caroni si è distinta per la grande qualità artistica e per i messaggi attuali di grande valore che i registi hanno voluto trasmettere al pubblico. I vari generi che spaziavano dalla commedia al dramma, dal sentimentale al comico, hanno dato la giusta alternanza d’emozioni creando un’atmosfera davvero unica. Il premio della Giuria è stato assegnato a “Thank you Mister Imada” di Sylvain Chomet, che parla di un regista che strapazza i suoi attori sino ad ottenerne l’eccellenza. Il primo premio del pubblico va a “Bellissima” di Alessandro Capitani che narra di Veronica, anima sensibile in un corpo scomodo che trova il coraggio nell’amore. Il secondo premio del pubblico va a “The Grenberry method” di Baptiste Bertheuil narrazione in chiave ironica della ferocia delle grandi aziende nella selezione del personale. Il terzo premio del pubblico va a “Lost Souls” di Fabrice Pierre delicata ed intensa narrazione degli incontri fatti durante una notte di lavoro da un tassista. La menzione speciale della Direzione Artistica va a “Anemone et Columbine” di Ethan Selcer analisi poetica e colma di grazia della separazione di una coppia. Eccezionali gli ospiti d’onore presenti in sala con i fuori concorso. Mauro Pagani, già direttore artistico di Sanremo, fondatore della PFM, nominato nel ’77 dal Music Life Magazine uno dei 10 musicisti più importanti al mondo, stretto collaboratore di Fabrizio de André, ha presentato il suo ultimo videoclip “The big man” parodia su Donald Trump. L’artista di fama mondiale Ingeborg Lüscher ha presentato il breve documentario “A closer look: Being Harald Szeemann” dove si narra l’avventura dell’acquisizione dell’archivio e libreria di uno dei più importanti curatori al mondo da parte del Getty Research Institute di Los Angeles. L’Ascona Film Festival come ogni hanno ha voluto inoltre sostenere un ente benefico, quest’anno Medici Senza Frontiere a cui ha dato un generoso supporto per i suoi progetti internazionali.

I’m very satisfied to announce that Saturday was the final night of an extraordinary edition of Ascona Film Festival. On all three evenings, our audience filled up every available seat in the house. During these three magical evenings at Hotel Ascona, we were yet again able to share many short international masterpieces, culminating in the screening of the Oscar winning short film “The Phone Call”. The winners of the international competition public prizes are: 1st place goes to “Destino” by Zangro, France. 2nd place goes to “Parvaneh” by Talkhon Hamzavi, Switzerland. 3rd place goes to “Sinceridad” by Andrea Casaseca, Spain. This year, for the first time, a special jury prize was awarded to “Parvaneh” by Talkhon Hamzavi, Switzerland, with special mentions going to the 2nd placed “More Than Two Hours” by Ali Asgari, Iran and 3rd placed “Le Temps d’un Tango” by Frédéric Hontschoote, France. We invite everyone to our 5th edition, which will take place from February 25th through 27th, 2016.

Am Samstag abend ist die 4. Veranstaltung des Ascona Film Festivals mit der Preisverleihung zu Ende gegangen. An allen drei Abenden war der Saal voll besetzt. Auch dieses Jahr konnten wir viele kurze, internationale Meisterwerke, während drei bezaubernden Abenden, mit unserem Publikum im Hotel Ascona teilen. Als grosses Finale wurde der Oscar gekrönte Kurzfilm “The Phone Call” gezeigt. Die Publikumspreise gingen an die folgenden Kurzfilme: 1. Preis an “Destino” von Zangro, Frankreich. 2. Preis an “Parvaneh” von Talkhon Hamzavi, Schweiz. 3. Preis an “Sinceridad” von Andrea Casaseca, Spanien. Dieses Jahr wurde zum ersten Mal ein spezieller Jury-Preis an “Parvaneh” von Talkhon Hamzavi verliehen, der sich vor “More Than Two Hours” von Ali Asgari, Iran und “Le Temps d’un Tango” von Frédéric Hontschoote, Frankreich, durchsetzen konnte. Wir laden alle zu unserer 5. Jubiläumsausgabe ein, die nächstes Jahr vom 25. bis 27. Februar stattfinden wird.

Si é conclusa ieri sera di fronte ad una sala gremita la seconda edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival. Gli organizzatori soddisfatti danno appuntamento all’anno prossimo.

Le 3 prime giornate dell’ Ascona Film Festival si sono svolte all’insegna della qualità dei cortometraggi a livello internazionale. Le 80 proiezione da tutto il mondo hanno visto sfilale sullo schermo (offerto da Electronic Studio) diversi generi di cortometraggi : Fiction, Documentari, Animazione classica, Animazione digitale, videoclip musicale, sperimentali e video arte. Il pubblico si è affezionato e gli interessati sono ritornati sera dopo sera, dando grande soddisfazione agli organizzatori e confermando la validità della proposta dal punto di vista culturale.

Il livello intenazionale della qualità raggiunta già dalla seconda edizione lascia quasi esterrefatti gli organizzatori di fronte alla penuria di articoli pubblicati dalla stampa locale rispetto all”enorme partecipazione a livello artistico internazionale e alla qualità raggiunta dai cortometraggi. Un vuoto giornalistico che forse con un po’ di ritardo verrà colmato per la terza edizione. Non posso quindi ringraziare i giornali locali sino al 2014, dove sono sicuro che riserveranno già da ora lo spazio che un’evento simile merita.

Questo pomeriggio alle 17h00 vedremo la proiezione di Karma :

Karma: Crime. Passion. Reincarnation (2008)

La fromula e l’architettura sono solide e se arriveranno i sostegni per la promozione l’Evento potrebbe aggiungersi alle iniziative per rendere competitiva a livello culturale e turistico la nostra destinazione. Confido nella lungimiranza delle associazioni, enti e comuni che sicuramente ne capiscono la potenzialità.

con 1200 cortometraggi candidati da tutto il mondo, la selezione artistica ha accettato 101 films che verranno proiettati all’Albergo Ascona in 4 serate. La caratteristica dell’Ascona Film Festival che lo distingue è quella di essere stato creato grazie ai social networks. Questo effetto virale ne ha accellerato esponenzialmente la crescita e già dalla seconda edizione può contare un lungometraggio da 4,5 milioni di dollari dall’India.

Il presidente dell’associazione giovani cineasti Iraniani sarà ospite d’onore.

Gli artisti non presenti parteciperanno in videoconferenza skype da tutto il mondo o se sarà possibile verranno invitati a raggiungere la nostra regione.

2. Ascona Film And Video Art Festival
1200 Kurzfilme aus aller Welt eingereicht
Das Ascona Film And Video Art Festival erfreut sich einer zunehmenden Beliebtheit: über 1200 Kurzfilme
aus aller Welt sind bei der Jury eingereicht worden. Rund hundert davon werden während des Festivals
gezeigt, das vom 20. bis 24. Februar 2013 zum zweiten Mal stattfindet.
„Wir sind positiv überrascht von der Vielzahl der Filme, die eingereicht wurde. Die Aufführungen werden die Erwartungen erfüllen, denn die Filme überzeugen auch qualitativ“, sagt Andrea Biasca-Caroni, der Direktor des 4-Sterne-Hotels Ascona (www.hotel-ascona.ch) in Ascona.
Er ist die treibende Kraft hinter dem Ascona Film And Video Art Festival, das im vergangenen Jahr seine Premiere
feierte. „Wir möchten jungen Filmproduzenten und Videokünstlern aus aller Welt eine Plattform bieten und den
Ideenaustausch zwischen aufstrebenden und etablierten Künstlern sowie dem Publikum fördern“, erläutert BiascaCaroni die Zielsetzung des Anlasses.
Die Besonderheit des Festivals besteht darin, dass die Einschreibung ausschliesslich via Social Media wie Facebook oder VIMEO erfolgt. Dies hat den Vorteil, dass ohne nennenswerten finanziellen Aufwand eine riesige
internationale Filmgemeinschaft angesprochen werden kann.
Für die zweite Ausgabe gingen bei den Organisatoren über 1200 Kurzfilme aus aller Welt ein. Die Palette reicht
von Animation über Dokumentation bis zu Fiktion und Musikvideos, von Low-Cost-Filmen bis zur indischen 4-Millionen-Dollar-Produktion mit dem Titel „Karma: Crime. Passion. Reincarnation“. „Wir haben eine kleine Nische im
grossen Panorama der vielen Filmfestivals gefunden“, sagt Biasca-Caroni.
Die Idee für die Lancierung des Festivals hatten vier Freunde, die eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft für Filme verbindet. Hoteldirektor Biasca-Caroni fand Gefallen an dem Projekt und leitete die Organisation in die Wege. Als künstlerischen Direktor für das Ascona Film And Video Art Festival konnte er den Filmproduzenten und Schauspieler
Julian Martin (www.julianmartin.ch) gewinnen.
Positive Reaktionen gab es nicht nur von den Filmschaffenden, sondern auch von den Sponsoren. Die Firma
Electronic Studio hat das Potential der Veranstaltung sofort erkannt und sich bereit erklärt, die audiovisuelle Infrastruktur (inklusive einem Riesenbildschirm) bereit zu stellen. Die Publikumspreise wiederum sponsern auch dieses
