The aim of the Ascona Film and Video Art Festival is to offer audiences an insight into the work of young, upcoming filmmakers and video artists from around the globe and to promote the exchange of ideas between established film workers, young talent and the public.
By submitting your work you confirm your intention to participate in the Ascona Film And Video Art Festival 2012, which will be held from February 20-24, 2013.

The idea is simple : we have a festival on the hard disk, we know how to do it, and we did it. A fully booked hotel (mine) at the first edition. … Shorts, films, Videoart, Video animations, experimentals and debutsDal mercoledì 22 a domenica 25 febbraio 2012 si svolgerà presso la sala eventi dell’Hotel Ascona di Ascona, in Via S. in Croce 1 ad Ascona la prima edizione dell’ Ascona Fim Festival.
Nella sala eventi dell’hotel Ascona verranno per 4 giorni verranno proiettati più di 120 cortometraggi per 17 ore di proiezione. I posti gratutiti sono 130.Il festival nasce da un’idea di 4 amici da sempre appassionati di cinema. Per realizzare concretamente l’idea sono stati utilizzati Facebook e Vimeo che hanno permesso di generare e gestire attraverso la comunità virtuale le candidature al festival. Anche la diffusione del bando di partecipazione a livello internazionale è stata possibile via Facebook e Vimeo.
La rispondenza è stata eccezionale e istantanea : più di 120 cortometraggi da tutto il mondo. (sono rappresentati almeno 30 paesi).
