Sarah Drew (born October 1, 1980) is an American actress, best-known for her role as Dr. April Kepner in the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy (2009–present). Drew is also known for her role as Hannah Rogers in The WB family drama Everwood (2004–2006) and for her lead role in the 2014 film Moms’ Night Out.

Early life

Drew was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, and raised in Stony Brook, New York, on Long Island where she also attended The Stony Brook School. Her mother, Dr. Jeannie Drew is now teaching biology at the independent private school for girls, Brearley, in Manhattan. Her father, Rev. Charles Drew, is the senior pastor at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in New York City. Her second cousin is actor Benjamin McKenzie.[1] Drew began acting in school plays, community theater with Take One Theatre Arts, and summer stock. Drew received a Bachelor’s degree in Drama from the University of Virginia in 2002.[2]

Career

In 1997, while still in high school, Drew lent her voice to the animated television series Daria, playing the character Stacy Rowe. She also voiced that same character in the Daria animated television movies Is It Fall Yet? and Is It College Yet?. In 2001, Drew made her professional stage debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. She made her Broadway debut in 2003 in Vincent in Brixton, which later took her to London’s West End. She made the move to television with a guest-starring role in the series Wonderfalls, and was in the feature film Radio, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. She appeared in the 2007 theatrical feature American Pastime, as Katie Burrell, the daughter of a Japanese relocation camp sergeant.

From 2004 to 2006, Drew starred as Hannah Rogers in The WB drama series Everwood. She later guest-starred on Cold CaseLaw & Order: Special Victims UnitMediumCastleGleeSupernatural, and Shonda RhimesPrivate Practice.[3][4] In 2009, Shonda Rhimes cast Drew in her legal drama pilot, Inside the Box.[5] She also starred in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Front of the Class (2008), and from 2008 to 2009 had a recurring role in the AMC drama series, Mad Men, as Kitty Romano.[6]

In 2009, Drew was cast as Dr. April Kepner, a resident from Seattle Grace’s rival hospital, Mercy West, for the sixth season of Shonda Rhimes’ medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy.[7][8] On June 9, 2010, she was promoted to a series regular on show.[9] In the summer of 2013, she played the lead role in the film Moms’ Night Out with former co-star Patricia Heaton, whom she previously worked with on Front of the Class. The film is scheduled to be released on May 9, 2014.[10]

Personal life

Drew married Peter Lanfer, a lecturer at UCLA and visiting faculty member at Dartmouth in June 2002. They reside in Los Angeles.[citation needed] On January 18, 2012, Drew and Lanfer welcomed their first child, a son named Micah Emmanuel.[11] She is Presbyterian Christian.[12]

Filmmakers opinion requested. Poll about broadcasting the Ascona Film Festival short films selection.

We are thinking about broadcasting the Ascona Film Festival short films selection.

We can use bambuser-logo for a live broadcast of your films. It’s gonna be on streaming and no download possible (except for hackers, but…).

We think it’s a good opportunity for reaching a wide public and make a lot of visibility of your productions.

This is a first open poll and if we get a positive feedback we will ask permission to all the selected filmmakers to make the broadcast.

In any case we will not public publish your work without your permission, don’t worry.  We care about filmmakers and act accordingly.
