Trotz dem frühzeitigen Scheitern des offiziellen Schweizer Beitrags «Der Kreis» ist das Zürcher Filmschaffen in der Schlussphase des Rennens um die Oscars 2015 doch vertreten: Unter den Nominationen, welche die Akademie am Donnerstag bekanntgegeben hat, findet sich der Kurzfilm «Parvaneh» der Schweizer Filmemacherin Talkhon Hamzavi. Sie kämpft am 22. Februar gegen vier Konkurrenten um den Sieg in der Kategorie «Live Action Short Films».
Besonders bemerkenswert ist, dass es sich dabei um einen Diplomfilm handelt: Die Regisseurin schloss damit 2012 ihr Masterstudium Film an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ab, wie Letztere in einem Communiqué mitteilt. Hamzavi ist 1979 in Teheran geboren und in der Schweiz aufgewachsen. Ihr Film ist schon an diversen kleineren Festivals ausgezeichnet worden, aber auch bei der Verleihung der “Studenten-Oscars” 2013 der Academy, und spiegelt eine fiktive Flüchtlingsgeschichte: Die Titelfigur, eine junge Migrantin aus Afghanistan, kommt von einer Asylunterkunft in den Schweizer Bergen in das verschneite Zürich – als Schauplätze dienen unter anderem der Hauptbahnhof und der Helvetiaplatz. Dort will sie Geld an ihre Familie in der Heimat überweisen, was sich als gar nicht so einfaches Unterfangen erweist. Neben der Diplomandin haben vier weitere Studierende in ihren Fachbereichen an dem Film mitgearbeitet: Talkhon Hamzavi (Drehbuch und Regie), Stefan Eichenberger (Produzent), Stefan Dux (Kamera) und Hannes Rüttimann (Schnitt/Montage).
Es ist keineswegs das erste Mal, dass ein Schweizer Werk in einer der zwei Dutzend Kategorien für den Oscar nominiert ist. Vor fünf Jahren beispielsweise war in derselben Kategorie “Auf der Strecke” von Reto Caffi in die letzte Runde gekommen. Einen Oscar hat das hiesige Schaffen, abgesehen natürlich vom Basler Produzenten Arthur Cohn, in den letzten Jahrzehnten nur einmal geholt, dafür in einer prestigeträchtigeren Kategorie: 1991 wurde Xavier Kollers “Reise der Hoffnung”, also ebenfalls ein Flüchtlingsdrama, zum besten fremdsprachigen Film erkoren.

La “degustazione” del vino, consiste in un’analisi sensoriale del prodotto stesso.
Ciò avviene tramite l’utilizzo di tutti i sensi: vista, olfatto, gusto e tatto che ne valutano la “qualità” e le proprietà.
La differenza tra l’atto di bere un vino e il degustarlo e’ netta.
La degustazione è un atto che richiede una precisa metodologia con l’intento di pervenire ad una disciplinata classifica delle “sensazioni percepite”.
Pertanto il vino per essere apprezzato esige attenzione, persino raccoglimento, ed il saper analizzare aumenta il piacere di degustare.
Prima di tutto si osserva il vino mentre viene versato nel bicchiere, in questa fase si valuta l’effervescenza che deve essere: abbondante negli spumanti, leggera nei vini frizzanti e anche se quasi impercettibile, comunque presente anche nei vini fermi.
La seconda cosa da valutare e’ la trasparenza e la limpidezza, portando il bicchiere all’altezza degli occhi e osservandolo controluce.
Successivamente si passa a valutare il colore: intensità e tonalità, per fare ciò si abbassa il bicchiere e lo si inclina di 45°.
L’intensità del colore dipende dalla qualità dell’uva, la tonalità ci da informazione sul grado di maturazione dell’uva al momento della vendemmia e sull’invecchiamento del vino (più e’ carico più e’ invecchiato).
Infine si imprime un leggero movimento rotatorio al bicchiere e si osservano le pareti del bicchiere; su queste rimarranno delle goccioline e degli archetti che ci permetteranno di valutare la consistenza del vino (contenuto di alcool e glicerina): fluido, poco consistente, abbastanza consistente, consistente ed infine viscoso; un velo lieve ed archetti regolari denotano un buon equilibrio.
Olfatto
Il secondo esame richiesto dalla tecnica di “degustazione” e’ quello “Olfattivo” , dove andremo ad analizzare profumi ed aromi del vino, in base ai seguenti parametri:
Gli aspetti da valutare sono tre: aroma, odore e profumo.
L’ aroma è dato dalle componenti odorose dell’uva, l’ odore dalle componenti volatili presenti nell’ uva o dal processo di vinificazione, infine il profumo e’ l’insieme delle sensazioni olfattive date da un vino.
Vi sono dieci principali famiglie di profumi: floreali, fruttati, frutta secca e confetture, erbacei e vegetali, erbe aromatiche, speziati, tostati, animali, eterei e sentori diversi.
Ogni vino avrà un suo odore caratteristico.
L’esame verrà effettuato in due tempi, prima portando il bicchiere al naso per percepire i profumi più delicati, poi agitando il bicchiere per provocare una evaporazione più intesa del complesso dei profumi.
Gusto
Il terzo esame richiesto dalla tecnica di “degustazione” e’ quello “Gustativo”, dove viene analizzato tanto il supporto gustativo fisso (componente gustativa pura) che la componente odorifera volatile (componente olfattiva pura), secondo i seguenti parametri”:
L’assaggio
Infine il momento più importante, l’assaggio.
In questa fase si valuta la struttura, l’equilibrio, l’intensità e la persistenza del vino.
Il gusto permette di percepire le sensazioni saporifere principali: salato, dolce, amaro e acido (ognuna in una zona diversa della lingua: dolce sulla punta, salato e acido sui bordi, amaro nella parte centrale ) ecco perché si fa “girare” il vino in bocca.
La lingua inoltre ci fornisce anche sensazione tattili e caloriche (un vino ricco di alcool ci trasmetterà una sensazione di calore, un vino ricco in acidi una sensazione di freschezza).
E’ necessario “pulirsi” la bocca con una piccola quantità di vino, prima di procedere all’assaggio vero e proprio che verrà effettuato con una modica quantità (circa un cucchiaio abbondante)
Altri consigli
Per apprezzare al meglio un vino rosso invecchiato si consiglia di tenere la bottiglia in posizione eretta per almeno 24 ore prima dell’apertura; inoltre e’ necessario ossigenare il vino prima della degustazione, o aprendo la bottiglia 3 o 4 ore prima, oppure versando molto delicatamente il vino in una caraffa (decantatore) facendo molta attenzione alla presenza di eventuali residui.
Ricordarsi di togliere sempre completamente la capsula protettiva dal tappo prima di stappare.
Osservare ed eventualmente pulire il collo della bottiglia da residui del tappo.

Un successo la 5a edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival
Con la cerimonia della consegna dei premi si è concluso sabato 27 febbraio la 5a edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival, dedicato ai cortometraggi. Il premio della giuria (Jury Agave) è andato al film italiano “Il sarto dei tedeschi” di Antonio Losito, trasposizione romanzata di un fatto vero accaduto durante la seconda guerra mondiale, pellicola premiata anche dal voto del pubblico con l’agave d’oro. Il secondo e terzo premio del pubblico (agave d’argento e agave di bronzo) sono stati attribuiti al britannico “In memory” di Alistair Clayton rispettivamente a “Er und sie” del tedesco Marco Gadge. La direzione artistica del Festival ha inoltre assegnato un premio speciale (meritato) al coraggioso documentario “La primavera rosa en el Kremlin” di Mario De la Torre. In esso alcuni giovani gay di ambo i sessi raccontano i grossi problemi e le angherie che devono sopportare nella loro patria, dove vengono presi di mira non solo da “giovani fascistelli facinorosi”, ma anche dalla Polizia con il beneplacito governativo. Possiamo affermare che questa quinta edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival si è rivelata quella della definitiva consacrazione. Il programma varato dalla direttrice artistica Greta Biasca-Caroni e dal direttore, e soprattutto ideatore del Festival, Andrea Biasca-Caroni è risultato il migliore di sempre, con cortometraggi molto variegati, ma tutti di qualità. Una larga fetta (tra i quali i film premiati) portava problematiche sociali molto attuali. Da segnalare inoltre il bel lungometraggio di Frank Hall Green “Wildlike” e una vera perla, dimenticata dalla giuria, il film sudcoreano “A day” di Han Jae-bin, che con caparbietà , malgrado le difficoltà di contatto con la Corea, la direttrice artistica ha voluto a tutti i costi per la rassegna asconese. Auspicabile che il successo di questa edizione possa far crescere ulteriormente il Festival e portare ancora più pubblico indigeno ad assistere alle proiezioni. L’entusiasmo dei promotori non manca.

The artistic direction of the Festival also awarded a special prize (deserved) to the brave documentary “The spring pink en el Kremlin” Mario De la Torre. In it some gay young men and women tell of the big problems and the harassment they have to endure in their homeland, where they are being targeted not only by “fascists young troublemakers”, but also by the police with the blessing government. We can say that this fifth edition dell’Ascona Film Festival proved that the final consecration. The program launched by the artistic director Greta Biasca-Caroni and director, and above all, creator of the Festival, Andrea Biasca-Caroni was the best ever, with very diverse short films, but all quality. A large share (including the award-winning films) wore very current social issues. Of note also the beautiful film by Frank Hall Green “Wildlike” and a real pearl, forgotten by the jury, the South Korean film “A day” Han Jae-bin, who with obstinacy, despite the difficulties of contact with Korea, the director artistic wanted at all costs to the festival Ascona. ASCONA – Tre serate da tutto esaurito per l’Ascona Film Festival. Una rassegna particolarmente soddisfacente quella di quest’anno, secondo gli organizzatori: “Anche quest’anno abbiamo potuto condividere tanti piccoli capolavori internazionali durante tre magiche serate al Hotel Ascona, culminate nel finale con la proiezione fuori concorso del vincitore dell’oscar 2015 nella categoria cortometraggio finzione non animato “The Phone Call””.
I premi del pubblico sono andati ai seguenti cortometraggi:
Primo premio a “Destino” di Zangro, Francia.
Secondo premio a “Parvaneh” di Talkhon Hamzavi, Svizzera.
Terzo premio a “Sinceridad” di Andrea Casaseca, Spagna.
Quest’anno, per la prima volta, è stato assegnato un premio speciale della giuria al film “Parvaneh” di Talkhon Hamzavi, Svizzera, che si è piazzato al primo posto davanti a “More Than Two Hours” di Ali Asgari, Iran e “Le Temps d’un Tango” di Frédéric Hontschoote, Francia.
La quinta edizione dell’Ascona Film Festival si terrà dal 25 al 27 Febbraio 2016.

Ascona Film Festival, il festival internazionale di cortometraggi nato sui Social Media, è orgoglioso di annunciare la selezione ufficiale per la sua 4 ° edizione, che si terrà da Giovedi 26 Febbraio a Sabato 28 Febbraio, 2015, nella sala eventi dell’Hotel Ascona, in Via Signore in Croce 1, sul Monte Verità di Ascona.
Quest’anno circa 7000 film provenienti da più di 100 Paesi sono stati candidati per la selezione del concorso internazionale di cortometraggi. Tra di loro 10 produzioni svizzere, tra cui “Parvaneh” di Talkhon Hamzavi, nominato per l’Oscar nella categoria Cortometraggi (Live Action); “Elite” di Piet Baumgartner, scritto da Thomas Ritter, già selezionato al Solothurner Filmtage 2014 ; “Totem “, di Sarah Arnold, vincitore del Pardino d’oro al Festival di Locarno 2014, e” 1927 “di Laura Kaehr, un breve documentario selezionati da” L’immagine e la Parola “, l’evento primaverile del Festival del film Locarno nel quadro della “Primavera Locarnese”.
Abbiamo anche scelto “The Little Blue Balloon”, il nuovo film del vincitore dello scorso anno Fáuston da Silva, Brasile, e produzioni dall’ Iran, Iraq, India e Israele. La selezione artistica ha scelto 30 opere provenienti da 18 paesi.
Venerdì 27/02/2015 alle ore 17h30 si terrà il concorso FOSIT (Federazione delle ONG della Svizzera Italiana) con un premio messo in palio da Western Union per il miglior progetto d’aiuto allo sviluppo delle ONG della FOSIT.
Sabato pomeriggio verranno proiettati i documentari fuori concorso “Padrone e Sotto” di Michele Cirigliano, in Svizzera, una coproduzione tra Mira Film, ZHdK, Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, RSI Radiotelevisione Svizzera e SRF, Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, un film che tratta di in una società chiusa di clienti di un piccolo bar squallido nella profondo sud d’Italia dove si tramanda un arcaico rituale ludico/etilico, e l’acclamato “Istanbul United” di Farid Eslam e Oliver Waldhauer, Repubblica Ceca / Germania, per i recenti avvenimenti che hanno avuto luogo durante il movimento di protesta in Turchia per proteggere parco Gezi contro i piani di demolizione del governo turco, e di come Ultrà di squadre concorrenti si siano uniti per la prima volta per una causa comune, andando ad aiutare i manifestanti pacifici per gestire le interazioni con la polizia.
Sempre sabato, dopo le proiezioni dei documentari si terrà la presentazione del progetto Just a Moment before di Pro Juventute prodotto da Polivideo con la proiezione di 2 corti “Just a moment before” di Ilario Lodi e “Take control” dei ragazzi di Losone.
Tutti i film saranno in lingua inglese o con sottotitoli in inglese.
I tre vincitori del premio del pubblico riceveranno CHF 1000.-, CHF 700.- e CHF 500.-. Quest’anno avremo anche un premio della giuria speciale nuovo premio di CHF 700.-.

4th Ascona Film Festival
Ascona Film Festival, the international short film festival organized exclusively via internet, is proud to announce the official selection for its 4th edition, which will be held from Thursday February 26th through Saturday February 28th, 2015, in the Event Hall of Hotel Ascona on the Monte Verità in Ascona.
This year nearly 5000 films from over 100 Countries were submitted for selection for the international short film competition. Amongst them 10 Swiss productions, including “Parvaneh” by Talkhon Hamzavi, nominated for the Oscar in the Short Film (Live Action) category, “Elite” by Piet Baumgartner, written by Thomas Ritter, which was selected at the Solothurner Filmtage 2014, “Totems”, by Sarah Arnold, winner of the Pardino d’oro at the Film Festival Locarno 2014, and “1927” by Laura Kaehr, a short documentary selected by “L’immagine e la parola”, the spring-time event of the Festival del film Locarno, forming part of the Primavera Locarnese.
We have the new film from last year’s winner Fáuston da Silva “The Little Blue Balloon” and films from Iran, Iraq, India and Israel . All in all we selected 30 films from 18 countries.
On Saturday afternoon we will be screening two feature length out of competition documentaries. “Padrone e Sotto” by Michele Cirigliano, Switzerland, a film that looks into a closed society of patrons of a small shabby bar in the deep south of Italy playing an archaic drinking game, and “Istanbul United” by Farid Eslam and Oliver Waldhauer, Czech Republic/Germany, about recent events that took place during the protest movement in Turkey to protect Gezi park against demolition, and how fans of competing football teams united for a common cause for the very first time to help the peaceful protesters against the ruthless dealings of the police.
All films will be in English or with English subtitles.
The three winners of the public award will receive CHF 1000.-, CHF 700.- and CHF 500.-. This year we will also have a jury award a special new prize of CHF 700.-.

I’m very satisfied to announce that Saturday was the final night of an extraordinary edition of Ascona Film Festival. On all three evenings, our audience filled up every available seat in the house. During these three magical evenings at Hotel Ascona, we were yet again able to share many short international masterpieces, culminating in the screening of the Oscar winning short film “The Phone Call”. The winners of the international competition public prizes are: 1st place goes to “Destino” by Zangro, France. 2nd place goes to “Parvaneh” by Talkhon Hamzavi, Switzerland. 3rd place goes to “Sinceridad” by Andrea Casaseca, Spain. Am Samstag abend ist die 4. Veranstaltung des Ascona Film Festivals mit der Preisverleihung zu Ende gegangen. An allen drei Abenden war der Saal voll besetzt. Auch dieses Jahr konnten wir viele kurze, internationale Meisterwerke, während drei bezaubernden Abenden, mit unserem Publikum im Hotel Ascona teilen. Als grosses Finale wurde der Oscar gekrönte Kurzfilm “The Phone Call” gezeigt. Die Publikumspreise gingen an die folgenden Kurzfilme: 1. Preis an “Destino” von Zangro, Frankreich. 2. Preis an “Parvaneh” von Talkhon Hamzavi, Schweiz. 3. Preis an “Sinceridad” von Andrea Casaseca, Spanien. Dieses Jahr wurde zum ersten Mal ein spezieller Jury-Preis an “Parvaneh” von Talkhon Hamzavi verliehen, der sich vor “More Than Two Hours” von Ali Asgari, Iran und “Le Temps d’un Tango” von Frédéric Hontschoote, Frankreich, durchsetzen konnte. Dopo l’esclusione già durante le preselezioni di Der Kreis, il titolo che era stato candidato dalla Svizzera nella categoria miglior film straniero, è arrivata come una piacevole sorpresa, prontamente sottolineata da Swissfilms, la nomination del corto Parvaneh per i prossimi Oscar.
La regista Talkhon Hamzavi (nata a Teheran nel 1979 e cresciuta nel nostro paese) e il produttore Stefan Eichenberger presenzieranno dunque alla cerimonia del 22 febbraio a Los Angeles.
Il film è il lavoro di Master della regista presso l’Alta scuola delle arti di Zurigo e racconta una storia di emigrazione: Parvaneh è il nome della rifugiata afgana che, venuta a conoscenza della malattia del padre rimasto in patria, cerca di aiutarlo a distanza.
Cortometraggio svizzero nominato – Il cortometraggio svizzero “Parvaneh” di Talkhon Hamzavi di origine iraniana è nominato per un Oscar nella categoria Live-Action Short Film. Hamzavi, che vive in Svizzera dal 1986 e ha realizzato il film all’Alta scuola delle arti di Zurigo, deve confrontarsi con quattro altri candidati, ha comunicato oggi Swiss Film.
Il cortometraggio di Hamzavi ha già vinto nel 2013 la medaglia d’argento nella categoria dei migliori film stranieri al 40. Student-Academy-Awards.

SynopsisA young photographer and his assistant suggest to Tibetan nomads to photograph them. On diverse and more or less exotic backgrounds, families present themselves to the photographer. Through these shots, the photographer will weave unique links with each of the various villagers.
Director’s StatementHow long did it take to make your short? Was it difficult to get financing?
I wrote the scenario in one week and two months later we obtained the financial support of the French CNC and ARTE French television. But shooting was much more complicated because the crew was formed by French and Chinese technicians and with Tibetan actors. With such a team, shooting in China next to Tibet was extremely complex. The first two attempts to shoot the film failed and finally the third succeeded.
Which thoughts come to mind concerning a “European cinema community”?
To me, the two most essential concerns are the diversity and the liberty of expression which are most possibly at the heart of European cinema.
If you owned a theatre for one night, which films would you screen?
Hmmm, it’s a pity that it is only for one night. I would love to organise a special screenings for children like my three-year-old daughter. Of course, they can shout and run in the theatre. Or maybe, four or five films for the night, is it a good idea for kids? So these films would be: PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, MARY POPPINS, THE WIZARD OF OZ, DONKEY SKIN, THE KING AND THE MOCKING BIRD…
What is your next project?
A particular film, strange and mysterious. I would leave you some suspense.
Hu Wei’s cultural film Butter Lamp has been capturing the heart of the film world and has just been nominated for a 2015 Oscar. This was not the only respected film festival to take notice of this exciting film, as it has achieved the grand total of 70 film prestige film awards and was selected by over 200 film festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Rotterdam Film Festival and the New York Film Festival, quite a feat for a little film from China.
In the Butter Lamp, a young photographer and his assistant suggest to Tibetan nomads to take their picture. Against diverse and mote of less exotic backgrounds, families appear to the photographer. Through these shots, the photographer weaves unique links with each of the various villagers.
Butter Lamp’s director Hu Wei was born in Beijing, China, he lives and works between Beijing and Paris. Wei graduated at La Femis, the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and Le Fresnoy. Butter Lamp is only his third film, although this multi-award winning movie is only his second fictional short and now this talented director is currently directing his first ever feature film. AFI Film Festival selection also praised the film, “The Grand Jury prize for Live Action caught us by surprise with its spellbinding and poetic simplicity. Traversing hundreds of miles of geography and spanning generations of time without leaving one central location, this film functions as a profound mediation on the practice and effects of image making.”
This live action short was written by the director Hu Wei, stars real life Tibetan nomads and was produced by Julien Feret, the beautiful cinematography was created by Stephane Degieau and Jean Legrand. Some of the 70 awards include; the Grand Prize at the Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the Golden Plaque Award at the Chicago Film Festival, the prestigious Grand Jury Award at AFI Film Festival (American Film Institute), a winner at London’s Raindance Film Festival, Best Short Film at Mexico’s Guanajuato International Film Festival and it was selected for a EFA (European Film Awards) nomination.
Wei wished to create a film between fiction and documentary, reality and drama, modern civilization and traditional habits. This award winning film and his outstanding work has captured the attention of the worldwide film industry, making his initial wish quite the reality.
The Academy Awards will be held in Hollywood on Sunday 22nd February.
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that 10 live action short films will advance in the voting process for the 87th Academy Awards®. One hundred forty-one pictures had originally qualified in the category.

The Academy’s Short Films and Feature Animation Branch Reviewing Committee viewed all the eligible entries for the preliminary round of voting at screenings held in Los Angeles. Short Films and Feature Animation Branch members will now select three to five nominees from among the 10 titles on the shortlist. Branch screenings will be held in Los Angeles, London, New York and San Francisco in December.
The 87th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
The Oscars® will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
